The Everything App: Elon Musk’s “Exciting” Plan

Elon Musk's $44 billion deal to buy Twitter sparked a new debate about what the billionaire would do with the platform if he owned it, with Musk tweeting that the Twitter purchase is an acceleration to the creation of X App, which will be an app for everything, in preparation for the so-called Super App, which is popular in China and other parts of Asia.

Super app is a term to describe an app that often acts as a one-stop shop for all your mobile needs. For example, you can order a taxi or food, massage people, and make payments through the app, this eliminates the need to have multiple apps for different functions.

"I think there's a real opportunity to make that happen," Musk told employees. It is noteworthy that Musk seeks to bring the number of Twitter users to at least one billion users, up from 237.8 million at the end of the second quarter.
