This Bollywood Actress Has Been Cleared of Drug Charges in the UAE

Bollywood actress Chrisann Pereira, who was detained in a prison in Sharjah after being accused of being involved in a drug case, will soon be able to travel back to India after being found not guilty of all charges on Monday.

The actor's brother, Kevin Pereira, stated that Pereira's passport will be returned to her in a week after the Sharjah legal process is complete.

On April 1st, the actor, 27, was stopped at Sharjah Airport when drugs had been found in her possession and placed behind a plaque.

In the words of Kevin Pereira, after 45 days of legal battle in the Sharjah court, the case was finally resolved on Tuesday. Kevin said, “I cannot say anything until her passport is returned to her, which might take at least a week.”

She was detained in Sharjah Central Jail for 25 days before being granted bail with the condition that her passport would be seized pending the outcome of the investigation.
