Why are Netizens Apologizing to Ananya Pandey After Watching Archies?

Since the release of the Indian adaptation of the famous comics Archie's last week on Netflix, netizens have had mixed reactions to the film, including apologizing to Bollywood actress Ananya Pandey who is not even in the film!

Although some people expressed their appreciation for 'The Archies', various netizens are criticizing the lead actors Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Agastya Nanda's performances.

An Instagram user has shared a clip from the film, writing "Watching Suhana act, my respect for Anaya Pandey has increased."

Another user commented on the clip "Dear Ananya Pandey, we're extremely sorry."

Similar comments have been circulating on Instagram, implying that compared to these debutants, Pandey acts better and was harshly criticized for her acting skills.

People are also blaming nepotism for the casting of Khan, Nanda, and Kapoor and calling to stop the casting of star kids.

One user said, "I literally forced myself to watch The Archies. Very disappointed. High time to stop nepotism."

Some users went further and expressed their gratitude to Zoya Akhtar for launching these three actors together because they were able to avoid sitting through the individual debut of each of the actors.

Other than comparing the leads' acting to Pandey, there also have been memes circulating the internet, comparing Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor's acting to stars like Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra.

A clip from a particular film featuring both Bollywood stars has been circulating Instagram with the caption "Kareena Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra at [Khan and Kapoor's] age".
