If you’ve scrolled TikTok lately, you’ve probably seen it: the “Bebot” beauty trend. Bare-faced to full-glam in seconds, this viral craze is giving everyone’s makeup glow-ups a major spotlight moment.

Where ‘Bebot’ Comes From

The trend takes its name from “Bebot,” the 2006 Black Eyed Peas track from their Monkey Business album. In the song, apl.de.ap raps in Filipino, celebrating his roots and the Filipino-American experience.

The music video captures early 2000s glamour, Filipino-American parties, and the iconic “bebot” vibe—Tagalog slang for a “pretty woman.”

How the Trend Blew Up

Nearly 20 years later, the track found a second life on TikTok. Users started using the song to show off Filipina beauty transformations, turning casual or bare-faced looks into full-glam “bebot” moments.

The trend began with TikTok creator Belle Pauleen, who captioned her transformation video:
"Bebot is just a Filipina baddie but in Tagalog."

Celebrities such as Maureen Wroblewitz and Anne Curtis have also joined in, posting their own “bebot” transformations or lip-syncing to the track.
