2 Filipinos Arrested in UAE Over Missile Attack Videos, Philippine Embassy Confirms

The Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi has confirmed that two Filipino nationals were arrested in the UAE over alleged social media posts related to the recent missile attacks in the country.

In a statement, the embassy said it immediately reached out to UAE authorities after receiving reports about the arrest to verify the details of the case.

Both individuals have been identified as Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) currently working in the UAE.

Embassy confirms identities of arrested OFWs

According to the embassy, officials were able to confirm the identities and current location of the two Filipinos after coordinating with relevant UAE authorities.

However, specific details about the individuals and the case are being withheld for now.

The embassy said the decision was made due to the ongoing investigation and at the request of the families involved.

Families informed, legal help provided

The embassy added that it has already contacted the families of the two OFWs to provide updates and support during the situation.

Legal assistance is also being provided through the embassy’s retained lawyer, while a request has been submitted to UAE authorities for a consular visit to the detained Filipinos.

The visit will depend on approval from the competent authorities handling the investigation.

Reminder for Filipinos in the UAE

At the same time, the Philippine Embassy reminded Filipinos living and working in the UAE to follow local laws, especially when posting or sharing content online.

Officials warned that this includes photos, videos, and even AI-generated material—particularly when related to sensitive situations like the current regional tensions.

The embassy said it remains committed to providing legal and consular support to the affected Filipino nationals.
