Abu Dhabi Police have arrested a driver for livestreaming on social media while driving, calling the act dangerous and a serious threat to public safety.
The arrest was made with support from the Monitoring and Control Centre after the driver’s behaviour was flagged as reckless.
Dangerous Driving Caught on Video
In footage shared by police, the driver can be seen livestreaming while weaving through traffic, switching on flashing lights, and overtaking cars using the hard shoulder on a high-speed road.
Authorities said the actions showed clear disregard for road safety and other motorists.

‘Roads Are Not for Social Media’
Police stressed that livestreaming while driving puts lives at risk, warning that even a few seconds of distraction can lead to deadly consequences.
They reminded motorists that public roads are not a place for showing off or engaging with online audiences.
Strict Action Against Violations
Abu Dhabi Police confirmed that using social media while driving is considered a major traffic offence due to the lack of focus and reckless behaviour involved.
Officials warned that there is zero tolerance for such violations and that legal action will be taken against anyone caught endangering lives on the road.
Police Urge Drivers to Stay Focused
Authorities called on all drivers to follow traffic laws, avoid using mobile phones while driving, and keep their attention on the road at all times.
The message is clear: drive responsibly, or face the consequences.
