As of 7:47 AM on Monday, May 5, 2025, traffic conditions in Dubai are experiencing typical weekday congestion, particularly along major routes such as Sheikh Zayed Road and the E11 corridor. According to the TomTom Traffic Index, congestion levels during morning peak hours can reach up to 30%, leading to delays of approximately 10 to 15 minutes on average for a 10 km commute.
Recent reports indicate that Dubai is facing significant traffic congestion challenges, comparable to major cities like Los Angeles, due to rapid urban growth and increasing population density. This has resulted in backups even during late hours, such as 9 PM.
Additionally, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has introduced a new intercity bus route, E308, connecting Dubai and Sharjah, effective from May 2, 2025. This aims to improve connectivity and alleviate traffic congestion between the two emirates
