Your quick grocery run in Dubai is about to come with a small twist. Spinneys and Waitrose are introducing paid parking at select branches, following a new partnership with Dubai parking operator Parkin.

The change will apply to six locations across the emirate — but there’s a catch that might ease the pain for regular shoppers.

Where Paid Parking Will Apply

Paid parking will be introduced at four Spinneys branches located on Trade Centre Road (Karama), Motor City, Al Meydan, and Umm Suqeim.

For Waitrose, the update affects stores in Motor City and Al Thanya.

First Two Hours Still Free

Here’s the good news: parking remains free for the first two hours. Charges only apply if you stay longer than that, making it business as usual for quick grocery trips.

Once the paid period starts, shoppers can manage payments using the Parkin mobile app, which will be rolled out across the affected locations.

Why the Change Is Happening

According to Spinneys, the move is aimed at improving traffic flow and parking availability at some of its busiest branches.

Parkin will handle the parking system using its smart management technology, helping reduce congestion and making it easier for customers to find parking when they need it.

Spinneys currently operates more than 40 stores across Dubai, and its parent company also holds the Waitrose license in the UAE.
