UAE Orphan Endowment Campaign Wins Guinness World Record
AED 3.3 billion campaign sets record for charity and long-term orphan support.
The Mother of the Nation Endowment for Orphans campaign, launched by the Endowments and Minors’ Funds Authority, Awqaf Abu Dhabi, has earned a Guinness World Records title for raising the Most Money for Charity by an Annuity Pledge in One Month. This is a major achievement for the UAE’s charity and humanitarian work.
The success was marked in a special ceremony attended by senior government officials, strategic partners, and supporters who helped make the campaign a strong success.
The campaign collected AED 3.3 billion ($898.5 million) during the holy month of Ramadan. This makes it one of the biggest humanitarian endowment initiatives in the UAE, created to support orphan care through long-term funding.
His Excellency Abdulhamid Mohamed Saeed, Chairman of the Endowments and Minors’ Funds Authority, said the world record reflects the UAE leadership’s vision of encouraging sustainable giving and supporting social responsibility. He said the achievement shows the country’s focus on investing in people and building a stronger society through community support.
He added that this record is not only about global recognition. It also shows growing trust in endowment (waqf) initiatives as a practical and lasting way to turn donations into long-term social impact.
His Excellency Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Secretary General of Erth Zayed Philanthropies, said the milestone reflects the values of the UAE Year of Family. He noted that caring for orphans is a shared social responsibility. He also said sustainable charity projects help build stronger community bonds and encourage future generations to support giving and social care.
His Excellency Fahad Abdulqader Al Qassim, Director General of the Endowments and Minors’ Funds Authority, praised the wide support from individuals and institutions. He said every contribution, no matter the size, helped achieve this global milestone and support a better future for orphaned children.

The fund’s returns will support education, healthcare, and quality-of-life projects for orphans.
