Details on Emirati Women's Day 2022 and What to Expect

The sixth annual Emirati Women's Day, under the theme "Inspiring Reality...Sustainable Future" is upon us. It celebrates Emirati Women who have come many miles and broke many barriers which will pave the way to young women looking to find themselves in the future.

How? 

Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, commonly known as The Mother of the Nation, established the Emirati Women's Day in 2015. On this day, the General Women's Union of the UAE was created, and this unique holiday is commemorated to acknowledge Emirati women's efforts and to honor their passion, tenacity, goals, and successes in establishing the UAE.

When?

Every year on August 28, Emirati Women's Day is celebrated. Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Al Ketbi, the Mother of the Nation, chose the date of August 28 to correspond with the foundation of the UAE's General Women's Union, which began on August 28 in 1975.

Theme

Sheikha Fatima declared in April that the theme of this year's Emirati Women's Day will be 'Inspiring Reality... Sustainable Future.' 

Sheikha Fatima complimented UAE women when she announced the theme for 2022, adding, "Emirati women have demonstrated that there is no endeavor that is impossible, owing to their hard work and inventiveness."
