Dubai’s Population Crosses 3.6 Million for The First Time

Dubai has achieved a new milestone with its population now surpassing 3.6 million for the first time, according to the most recent figures from the Dubai Statistics Centre.

The population now stands at 3,600,175, marking a one percent increase of 33,000 people by the end of the first quarter of this year, which is a 1.5 percent increase of more than 50,000 residents compared to the end of 2022.

Dubai's attraction, which is characterised by top-notch infrastructure, a secure political and judicial system, as well as a growing economy, can be credited with the increase.

Tens of thousands of newcomers continue to flock to the city in search of employment or investment possibilities.

Dubai’s urban plan estimates that by 2040, the population could reach 5.8 million, and peak at 7.8 million during busy hours, up from 4.729 million at the end of 2022.

In terms of demographics, men account for 69 percent of Dubai's population, or over 2.438 million people, while women account for 31 percent of the population, or more than 1.111 million people.

Emiratis account for eight percent of the population, while expats represent 92 percent.
