Dubai CDA Spreads Joy with Eidiya for 10,000 Children

In the spirit of Eid Al Adha and to promote social solidarity, Dubai’s Community Development Authority (CDA) has distributed Eidiya, traditional Eid gift money, to 10,000 children across the city. The initiative focused on children from families supported by the CDA, including orphans, and was carried out in collaboration with the Endowments and Minors’ Trust Foundation (AWQAF Dubai).

Organised under the ‘Eidiya’ initiative, this effort is part of the UAE’s ongoing ‘Year of Community’ campaign and reflects a broader goal: to bring people together, foster social cohesion, and celebrate cultural traditions that strengthen bonds within society.

Her Excellency Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of CDA, highlighted that this initiative mirrors the UAE leadership’s vision of placing people, especially children, at the heart of national development.

“The Eidiya is not just financial support; it’s a heartfelt message meant to bring joy to children during these blessed days and to make them feel valued and cared for,” she said.

She praised AWQAF Dubai for its role in supporting initiatives that promote generosity and community well-being, adding that true collaboration among partners in the social sector is key to long-term community success.

Her Excellency also pointed out that such initiatives go beyond just celebrating a holiday, they help shape confident children and build stronger families.

“We aim to make the most of religious, national, and social occasions to highlight the value of each individual in society,” she said. “Children, as the heart of the family and the foundation of the future, deserve our full attention and support.”
