The Time magazine named Azaiza as one of the most influential people for its Time 100 2024 list.

Motaz Azaiza Named Amongst Influential People by Time

Palestinian photojournalist Motaz Azaiza was named among Time magazine's 'The 100 Most Influential People of 2024'.

Azaiza made it to Time's list because of efforts to show the reality of the war in Gaza through his Instagram account, which has 18. 2 million followers. 

Time's writer Yasmeen Serhan describes Azaiza as "the world’s eyes and ears" for the war in Gaza when he was there and even after he evacuated from his homeland in January 2024.

Since the beginning of the war in October 2023, Azaiza tirelessly worked to shed light on the brutality committed against Palestinians in Gaza. 

After his evacuation, he continues to work to raise awareness about the war in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis that has resulted from it. 

Azaiza made it to the Icons section of the Time's list alongside Thelma Golden, Frank Mugisha, Hayao Miyazaki, Sofia Coppola, and others.
