The UAE has cemented its status as a top winter travel destination, climbing to 18th place in the World Economic Forum’s 2024 Travel & Tourism Development Index while maintaining its position as the regional leader in tourism.

Ambitious Goals for Tourism Growth

As part of its Tourism Strategy 2031, the UAE aims to attract AED100 billion in investments and host 40 million hotel guests annually. These efforts have already borne fruit, with the country welcoming 29.2 million international tourists in 2024 — a 15.5% surge from the previous year, according to the World Travel & Tourism Council. The council forecasts visitor numbers to reach 45.5 million by 2033.

The UAE remains the only Middle Eastern country in the top 10 global markets for international tourism revenue. Winter is the prime season, attracting visitors with its diverse outdoor offerings and favorable weather.

The nation recently launched its fifth "World’s Coolest Winter" campaign, showcasing its stunning destinations through unique tourism experiences for both local and international visitors. The initiative marks 53 years of the UAE’s transformation into a global tourism hub.
