Al Wathba Gears Up for a 62-Minute Fireworks Marathon This New Year’s Eve

If you’re planning where to spend New Year’s Eve, Al Wathba is basically saying: “Come here, we’ve got the big guns.” The Sheikh Zayed Festival is rolling out a massive NYE programme—think fireworks, drones, cultural shows, and everything in between.

62 Minutes of Fireworks (Yes, Really)

The festival is aiming for five new Guinness World Records with a fireworks display that starts at 8 p.m. and peaks at midnight. The main show alone will run for 62 straight minutes, synced with advanced tech to light up the entire area. If you want a sky that literally won’t stop sparkling, this is the spot.

A Drone Show the Size of a Small City

Also on the program: a 6,500-drone performance lasting 20 minutes. They’ll form nine giant scenes, sync with the fireworks, and do a digital countdown—basically a tech flex you can’t miss.

Culture, Heritage, and Global Performances

While the sky goes wild, the grounds stay lively too. Expect traditional Emirati shows like Al Ayala and Al Razfa, plus international troupes, carnival-style entertainment, and new activities for kids at the recently opened amusement area. Country pavilions and partners will also showcase culture, tech, and art throughout the night.

Crowd & Safety Plans Already in Motion

Organizers are boosting entry and exit points, expanding walkways, and deploying safety and medical teams. Gates will shut once capacity is full, so booking tickets early is a must. Follow official festival channels for updates—this is one event that’ll definitely pack out.
