In an Instagram post, she clarified that she is not working on a new album and stated, "I will never return to the music industry!!!" Spears emphasized her interest in songwriting, mentioning that she writes "for fun" or others, highlighting that she has written over 20 songs for other artists in the past two years.

The pop star, known for hits like "Baby One More Time" and "Toxic," referred to herself as a ghostwriter and expressed her enjoyment of this role.

Additionally, she addressed rumors about her memoir, stating that it was not released "ILLEGALLY" without her approval. The post featured a caption alongside a painting by Guido Reni, and Spears debunked speculation about collaborations with artists like Julia Michaels and Charlie XCX, emphasizing her focus on ghostwriting and songwriting for enjoyment.
