Dubai Metro Resumes Operations on Some Routes After Rain

Officials revealed that the Dubai Metro resumed operations for some routes along the Red and Green lines on Thursday, Apr. 18.

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority announced that the following Red Line routes are now fully operational:

  • Centrepoint Station to Business Bay Station, passing directly to Mall of the Emirates and Dubai Internet City
  • Jebel Ali station to Expo 2020 Station

The following Green Line routes are now fully operational:

  • Etisalat e& Station to Abu Hail Station
  • Creek Station to Gold Souq Station

All other affected stations will have bus services available for commuters.

RTA also announced that taxi and public bus services have completely resumed to regular schedules. The authority did warn of the slight delay in services because of the issues caused by the heavy rains.

RTA also ensured that tram services became fully operational on Thursday.

The authorities also announced the reopening of the Sheikh Zayed Road from Dubai World Trade Centre Roundabout to Intersection 9 (where Sheikh Zayed Road connects with Al Maktoum Airport Street) heading towards Abu Dhabi.

Motorists and communists have been warned of delays in reopening roads and resuming transport services and have been requested to be patient.

They have also been advised to practice the utmost caution while travelling as some areas are still blocked from water accumulation after the heavy rains.
