Explosions rocked Tehran on Tuesday evening, just hours after the United States warned that its military strikes on Iran were about to ramp up.

Journalists on the ground reported hearing at least three blasts across the Iranian capital. So far, there is no official word on what the intended targets were.

The explosions come as tensions in the Middle East continue to spiral, with the conflict now shaking global energy markets.

US signals biggest wave of strikes so far

Earlier in the day, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said American military operations inside Iran were about to intensify.

Speaking at a Pentagon press conference, Hegseth warned that Tuesday would likely see the most aggressive round of strikes since the fighting began.

According to him, the operation would involve “the most fighters” and “the most bombers” deployed so far.

Energy markets on edge

The ongoing war has already sent shockwaves through global oil markets.

Iran has warned that if attacks from the United States and Israel continue, it may block crude oil exports from leaving the Gulf — a move that could disrupt a major share of the world’s oil supply.

For now, the conflict shows no clear signs of slowing down.
