International Holidays That Us Citizens Don't Celebrate

A visit around the world, even in the form of stories, tends to demonstrate the differences in the way people celebrate special days. Most of the countries are celebrating historical, seasonal, faith-based, and cultural pride aspects unknown to Americans. They can shut down whole cities, line the streets with color, or make one pensive, but they come and go like any other day in the United States. It is not learning about them in comparison, but curiosity. There are holidays in which nature is celebrated, others in commemoration of broad alterations, and holidays in which the tradition of the community over the centuries is remembered. They serve as a lovely reminder that even though the day-to-day living may be pretty much the same worldwide, the reasons for people getting together, taking a break and celebrating can be wonderfully diverse.
