Kerala Expat Wins Dh25k After 10 Years of Big Ticket Tries

Four lucky winners from India and Bangladesh have each won Dh25,000 in the second weekly e-draw of May held by Big Ticket.

One of the winners, Helvin Antony from Kerala, has been participating in Big Ticket for over 10 years. The 55-year-old manager received the exciting call while sitting at home with his wife in Ajman. Helvin expressed that he would dedicate the winnings to his wife and let her decide how the money will be spent.

Another winner, Bangladeshi expat Nantu Dey, has been working in Fujairah for 42 years. He shared, “I am very happy, this win has given me the confidence to hope for even more.”

The 60-year-old manager plans to use the prize money to buy more tickets, encouraged by his win to aim for bigger prizes. Since his win, Nantu has been encouraging friends to try their luck with Big Ticket.

‘I Was Very Surprised’

Dubai-based sales manager Girishkumar Parayanthazhathu, originally from Kerala, celebrated his win with 50 people. Living in Dubai since 2003, Girishkumar has been purchasing Big Ticket entries every month for the past five years as part of a group with 50 members.

"I was very surprised, it is a great feeling that I really did not expect," he said. The prize is being shared equally among all 50 members, and the group is still deciding what to do with the money.

Meanwhile, another winner, 35-year-old accountant Shony George from Kerala, was completely shocked by the winning call. “I initially thought it was just a promotional call from the Big Ticket team, so I was completely caught off guard when Bouchra informed me that I had won. I was so surprised that when she asked me when I purchased the ticket, I got confused and mentioned the day of the e-draw instead, May 19th. I had actually bought the ticket the evening before, May 18th at 8.40pm.”

Shony, who has been living with his family in the UAE for the past 10 years, started buying Big Ticket entries regularly two years ago with a group of six friends. He explained that the winning ticket was chosen randomly and shared plans to split the prize among their group. Shony hopes to use his portion to buy a special gift for his family, and he confirmed their plan to continue participating in future Big Ticket draws.

Big Ticket Grand Prize and Weekly Draws

The grand prize for Big Ticket is Dh20 million, which will be awarded during the live draw on June 3.

Customers who buy two tickets between May 1 and 24 are also eligible for the Big Win Contest. Four winners from this contest will be invited to the June 3 live draw for a chance to win up to Dh150,000 each.

Two more weekly e-draws remain in May, each offering Dh25,000 to four winners. The draws are streamed live at 11 a.m. on the Big Ticket's YouTube channel.

Big Ticket also includes the Dream Car Series, featuring exciting prizes such as a Range Rover Velar on June 3 and a BMW X6 on July 3.
