The Miss Universe UAE organization has officially crowned Mariam Mohamed, a 26-year-old Emirati fashion student, as Miss Universe UAE 2025, marking a historic milestone as she becomes the first Emirati woman to compete on the global Miss Universe stage. The international pageant will take place next month in Thailand.

Selected from hundreds of applicants through a rigorous nationwide process, Mariam stood out for her intellect, confidence, and vision for change. “The UAE has given me the confidence to dream big,” she said. “I want to be a voice for women who are ambitious, curious, and driven. Miss Universe UAE is not just about beauty, it is about impact.”

Mariam holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Sydney and is currently pursuing fashion design at ESMOD Dubai. Combining academia, artistry, and advocacy, she has been involved in sustainable fashion, women’s empowerment initiatives, and charitable programs such as Ramadan Aman and The Giving Family Initiative.

Her journey reflects a harmony of heritage and innovation—from falconry and camel riding to her work in sustainable fashion design. Mariam aims to present the UAE’s values of empowerment, sustainability, and cultural pride on a global platform.

As she prepares to represent the UAE in Thailand, Mariam hopes her story inspires a new generation of Emirati women to pursue their dreams without limits.

Poppy Capella, national director of Miss Universe UAE, praised Mariam’s achievement, noting her exceptional ability to embody the nation’s spirit. “She distinguished herself not only with her eloquence and vision but also with her ability to represent the values of the UAE heritage, empowerment, and global perspective,” said Capella.

She added that the Miss Universe UAE 2025 competition saw over 950 applicants from across the country. “Each of the young women brought extraordinary talent, intelligence, and heart to the competition, and they are all winners in their own right,” she said.

With her bold vision, academic excellence, and cultural pride, Mariam Mohamed now carries the UAE’s flag into a new era of representation—celebrating beauty, purpose, and the power of women to lead change.
