More Than 1200 Firms Violate Emiratisation Regulations

Since mid-2022, 1,202 private firms were found violating Emiratisation regulations, with 1,963 cases of fake Emiratisation detected by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE).

Penalties for violators range from fines of AED 20,000 to AED 100,000, along with referrals to public prosecution. Additionally, these companies face downgrading within MoHRE's private sector classification and loss of financial benefits under the Nafis program.

Any previously accrued benefits will also be recovered. Fake Emiratisation occurs when UAE nationals hold nominal positions without real responsibilities to meet Emiratisation targets or when they are rehired solely to manipulate data. Currently, more than 95,000 Emiratis work in the private sector according to MoHRE.
