New Cancer Hospital to Open in 2021 in Dubai

A new cancer hospital with 250 beds to be established after the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum in Dubai.

The 250-bed 'Hamdan Bin Rashid Cancer Charity Hospital' will cover an area of 50,000 square meters as the new cancer hospital in Dubai which will provide free treatment to low-income cancer patients.

The facility will also support cancer research and train medical practitioners to deliver world-class treatment services, said a statement. His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai made the announcement.

Sheikh Mohammad stated that the new cancer care hospital will be able to receive 30,000 patients annually, offering comprehensive services ranging from prevention, diagnosis, treatment and palliative care.

The hospital will open in 2023 as it will be completed in two phases the seven-storey facility is also said to be Dubai’s first fully modular-built hospital equipped with the latest medical technologies.

“Hamdan bin Rashid will always be remembered in our nation for giving more than he was asked, and for working silently for the service of humanity. The hospital is a fitting tribute to the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid, one of the world’s greatest philanthropists, and we are proud to come together to build on his legacy to make quality healthcare within reach for all,” said Sheikh Mohammed.
