The health sector in the State of Qatar is working in full swing to ensure that it is fully prepared to respond to the special requirements that accompany hosting major international sporting events, as the ministry pledged to raise the health sector’s readiness for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 in coordination with partners and relevant committees and to review the national framework for health emergencies in light of challenges And the experience of responding to the Coronavirus pandemic, capacity building, and training to enhance monitoring and response, which will also include implementing an advertising campaign in conjunction with the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 to promote health awareness for visitors to the State of Qatar during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Since 2020, the health sector, represented by the Ministry of Public Health and its partners, has been working to rehabilitate and train medical personnel to respond to the special requirements that accompany hosting major events such as the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Several conferences have been held in this regard, including the Qatar Health Conference 2020, which It was organized with the aim of enhancing the expertise of health care cadres with regard to providing health care services during mass gatherings as part of the health sector's preparations for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which is one of the largest sporting events around the world.

Health care for mass gatherings is one of the new medical fields, as the organization of this type of conference is part of the continuous efforts to ensure the readiness of the health system and health care cadres to provide the necessary health care services during the 2022 World Cup hosted by the State of Qatar.

There were numerous conferences, which in turn contributed to developing the response of the sector, medical and nursing staff, and all workers, and benefiting from all partners, each according to his role, whether from the government health sector or the private health sector.

The State of Qatar seeks to make medical services during the World Cup the best during previous world championships as there are discussions about all services and how to provide them and protect the electronic system so that it cannot be disabled or hacked, which contributes to achieving the best picture of health services during the tournament.

As for health services, there is a working committee formed in the Projects and Legacy Committee, where plans have been developed for full health coverage during the 2022 World Cup.

Dr. Abdel-Wahab Al-Musleh, head of the Health Care and Anti-Doping Committee in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, expected in previous statements that about 2,000 doctors and nurses would participate during the tournament’s activities, distributed in various places, and there are special services for the public to receive treatment quickly, and all these services are free for all.

Where there will be an integrated and comprehensive plan for medical services on 3 levels, the first level will be in stadiums and hotels, the second level will be in health centers, and the third level will be in hospitals, all of which are one team and of course, the goal is to provide integrated medical services to visitors without affecting the usual medical services in the country.

It is noteworthy that the State of Qatar and the World Health Organization signed a three-year partnership in October 2021, in cooperation with the International Football Association (FIFA), to carry out joint activities to place the promotion of healthy life, health security, and physical and mental health at the heart of the most prominent global football event, the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
