Top UAE leaders have extended their condolences to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud following the death of Prince Alwaleed bin Khalid bin Talal Al Saud, widely known as Saudi Arabia’s “Sleeping Prince.”

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, and Vice President Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed were among those who offered heartfelt messages to the Saudi royal family.

Who Was the “Sleeping Prince”?

Born in April 1990, Prince Alwaleed fell into a coma after a car accident in 2005 and remained unconscious for nearly two decades. His story captured the hearts of many across the Arab world, where he became a quiet symbol of hope, faith, and perseverance.

He was the eldest son of Prince Khalid bin Talal and the nephew of billionaire investor Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.
