A mystery call from 1971 brings delight in UAE!

In a big surprise for UAE residents, some reported to have received a mysterious call from a four-digit number “1971.” The call starts with greetings. Then the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum introduces himself to the listener and wishes the person a happy National Day.

The pre-recorded call in Arabic translates to, “This is Mohammed Bin Rashid. I wanted to wish you a happy National Day. “

I hope you have happy days ahead, and for the nation a wonderful future.”

“We will continue to serve you and this nation. 

May you, your families and this country be blessed always...”  

The news of the Dubai Ruler personally calling up residents went viral. 

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, shared the recorded call on his Instagram Stories.

The year 1971 is important in the UAE calendar as the year marks the federal unification of the seven emirates which combined to form the UAE, headed by Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the federation’s first president and the founding father.
