National Ambulance Reports Strong H1 2026 Emergency Response
Emergency teams handled 73,624 cases as the service expanded its 24/7 response network across the Northern Emirates.
National Ambulance has released its operational figures for the first half of 2026, showing strong emergency response activity across the Northern Emirates. During this period, emergency teams handled 73,624 emergency cases, while 58,781 patients received pre-hospital emergency medical care. The Ambulance Communication Centre also received 168,659 calls.
The numbers show the important role National Ambulance plays in the UAE emergency response system. Operating under the National Guard Command, the service provides frontline ambulance support across Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain.
Its teams are stationed at 60 locations across these emirates to respond quickly to traffic accidents, medical emergencies, and injuries.
National Ambulance continues to provide 24/7 emergency medical services through the 998 emergency number. This is part of the UAE’s integrated national emergency system, which helps ensure fast response and better public safety. The service also works closely with police and civil defence teams to respond to fires, car accidents, multi-injury incidents, and other emergencies.
The statistics were announced during the opening of National Ambulance’s new headquarters in Abu Dhabi. The facility was officially inaugurated by Ahmed bin Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of Health and Prevention and Chairman of the Federal Ambulance and Civil Defence Authority.
During the visit, Dr. Eng. Mohammed Salem Haboush, CEO of National Ambulance, guided the minister around the new headquarters. The facility includes the Ambulance Communication Centre, a training centre, medical supply warehouses, and a modern fleet with advanced technology and monitoring systems. The minister also reviewed development projects using artificial intelligence to improve ambulance operations and service efficiency.
Since starting in 2010, National Ambulance has become one of the key pre-hospital care providers in the UAE. It also plays an important role in national emergency response during mass casualty incidents, disasters, and crises, working with other providers under the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA). In addition, National Ambulance offers accredited training programmes for the community, healthcare professionals, and EMS workers through its internationally recognised Training Centre.
