Dubai World Cup 2023 Begins at Meydan Racecourse

The 27th edition of the Dubai World Cup begins today, March 25th, bringing together 129 horses from 13 nations.

 A total of 78 international and 51 Emirati horses are contesting for an AED 112 million ($30.5 million) grand prize.

The race, which kicked off at 12:30 pm UAE time, is taking place at the Meydan Racecourse iconic track at Dubai Racing Club. 

The event comes under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai.

"The Dubai World Cup, since 1996, embodies tolerance, love, and peace through horse racing. Each year, top horses, owners, trainers, and riders worldwide compete with determination for excellence," Sheikh Mohammed said on Friday in a welcoming message to the guests of the Dubai World Cup.
