How Will The Newly Constructed Bridges in Dubai Help Reduce Traffic?

The Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Corridor Improvement Project, which ran along the Ras Al Khor route from Dubai-Al Ain Road to Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road, is now officially completed and the route is fully operational, reducing commuter traffic.

The second and final phases of the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) project, which spans 8 km and required the construction of four bridges totaling 2 km, have been completed.

Ras Al Khor Road was increased from three to four lanes in each direction during the first phase, and a two-lane service road was built on either side. The goal was to improve traffic flow and safety while getting rid of the overlapping traffic spots that were already there. It reduced travel time from 20 minutes to around 7 minutes and increased the road's capacity to 10,000 vehicles per hour.

The final phase involved building a two-lane, 988-meter bridge with a free left turn for traffic approaching from Nadd Al Hamar Road in the direction of Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Road in order to increase the capacity of the intersection of Nadd Al Hamar Road and Ras Al Khor Road.

The project involved the addition of a new two-lane bridge, spanning 115 meters, to facilitate traffic from Nadd Al Hamar Road to Ras Al Khor Road, towards Dubai-Al Ain Road. Furthermore, a 368-meter two-lane underpass was constructed to allow right-turn access for traffic from Ras Al Khor Road to Nadd Al Hamar. The existing junction was also improved, and the existing turns were widened as part of the project.

One of the major projects the RTA is working on is the Sheikh Rashid Bin Saeed Corridor Improvement Project. This project serves 650,000 residents who live in The Lagoons, Dubai Creek, Meydan Horizon, Ras Al Khor, Al Wasl, and Nadd Al Hamar Complex, among other significant projects. developments.

The project, which was completed in two phases, is an important part of the RTA's ongoing efforts to enhance Dubai's infrastructure and keep up with the emirate's sustainable expansion.
