Manchester City Win First UEFA Champions League, Complete Treble

Manchester City won the UEFA Champions League at last with a 1-0 win over Inter Milan in Istanbul on Saturday, wrapping up a historic treble.

Rodri's vicious strike midway through the second half at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium put City in the driver's seat.

Rodri scored the goal in the 68th minute as he runs onto a loose ball after Manuel Akanji slipped Bernardo Silva on goal.

The match was watched by owner Sheikh Mansour, who made a very rare appearance at a City game.

Pep Guardiola's side claimed the Premier League on May 28th and the FA Cup on June 3rd.

It is now the 10th time in history that a team won its domestic league, top domestic cup, and the European Cup.

Celtic was the first to win a treble in 1966-67, followed by Ajax in 1971-72. PSV Eindhoven then won it in 1987-88 before Man United made it happen 11 years later, then Inter Milan did it in 2009-10. Bayern Munich and Barcelona have each done it twice, with Bayern doing it in 2012-13 and 2019-20 and Barca pulling it off in 2008-09 and 2014-15.
