Mohamed Salah to Headline Egypt's Training Camp in UAE

Mohamed Salah, the 31-year-old Liverpool forward, is expected to be the star attraction of Egypt's national team training camp in Al Ain, UAE, from October 9-17.

Egypt will play two friendlies during their training camp in the UAE, against Zambia on October 12 and Algeria on October 16. Both matches will be played at the Hazza bin Zayed Stadium.

The nine-day training camp is part of manager Rui Vitoria's preparations for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualification campaign, which begins in November, and the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in January.

The Egyptian Football Association has announced a preliminary list of 11 overseas players for the upcoming training camp in the UAE, with Mohamed Salah headlining the list.

Alongside the Egypt captain were Mohamed Elneny (Arsenal) Trezeguet (Trabzonspor), Tarek Ahmed (Damac), Mostafa Mohamed (Nantes), Omar Marmoush (Eintracht Frankfurt), Sam Morsy (Ipswich Town), Ahmed Hamdy (Montreal), Ahmed Hassan Koka (Pendikspor), Hamdy Fathi (Al Wakra) and Mohamed Sherif (Al Khaleej).

Egypt's upcoming training camp in the UAE is a collaborative effort between the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and Egypt's United Sports Company. Tickets for the friendlies against Zambia and Algeria are now on sale.
