RIMOWA UNVEILS AN ICONIC ALUMINIUM SPECIAL EDITION,

Today, RIMOWA is proud to announce the launch of a special  edition version of its iconic RIMOWA Original aluminium suitcase that celebrates the renowned design's history of dedicated craftsmanship and innovation.

Made in Cologne, Germany, the RIMOWA Original Camouflage is a unique reinterpretation of one of the most renowned world’s patterns. It has been meticulously designed to create a harmonious, sophisticated, yet dynamic pattern carefully adapted to the shape and structure of the luggage. The result is a unique colour combination in a refined pattern that appears to be almost floating on the surface of the suitcase, creating interesting visual focal points throughout.

At each stage of its manufacture, this first-time special edition collection has been crafted using techniques honed by RIMOWA for more than a century. To achieve its signature camouflage look, RIMOWA employed a combination of its mastery of aluminium anodising and various surface treatments to lock colour pigments into the metal alloy, resulting in a lasting metallic sheen that lends the design a unique and vibrant appearance. Just the engineering of each can take up to several hours before a lengthy hand-finishing and quality control process ensures the flawless completion of each piece. The RIMOWA Original Camouflage, is the utmost illustration of the mastery of this technique, showcasing three different colours inscribed directly into the product's aluminium skin.

In keeping with the excellence of the RIMOWA Original collection, each suitcase includes an anodised aluminium badge with the engraved RIMOWA logo and pioneering wheel design that thoughtfully incorporates the brand's new monogram. Pioneered by RIMOWA, this high-end RIMOWA Multiwheelâ System guarantees stable and effortless steering thanks to ball-bearing mounted wheels with cushioned axels engineered for increased resilience, stability, and durability – built to withstand even the most rigorous travel schedule.

The new special edition will be available in two aluminium colourways, RIMOWA Original Cabin Green Camouflage and RIMOWA Original Cabin Pink Camouflage.

The RIMOWA Original Cabin Camouflage (RRP 1150 €) will be available starting from November 19, 2020 in selected RIMOWA stores and online at RIMOWA.com.
