Sheikh Hamdan Approves AED 70 mln for People of Determination

Crown Prince of Dubai Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed approved a social support package worth AED 70 million for Emirati people of determination in Dubai.

The social funding has increased by 60% from 2022 when AED 44 million was provided for this social support package.

In 2023, the support package will cover the fees from kindergarten to university education; training and rehabilitation at special institutions; and costs of shadow teachers, caregivers, and other assistance.

The support package will also cover costs of assistive devices, vehicle repair, transportation, and costs of equipping workplaces with facilities for people of determination.

According to the Minister of State and Director General of Dubai's Community Development Authority Hessa Buhumaid, the increase in funds will ensure that the support packages reach a larger number of people and improve efforts for creating a more inclusive community.

Furthermore, the Minister of State emphasized that the rehabilitation support will largely benefit people of determination and reduce the financial burdens of their families.

This decision to increase funding for people of determination came after Sheikh Hamdan's attendance at the Iftar banquet at the Emirates Towers in Dubai on April 12th where he met children and adolescents of determination along with their families.
