UAE Astronaut Relocates SpaceX Dragon Capsule in Space

Emirati astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi and three colleagues successfully relocated a Dragon spacecraft to another docking port at the International Space Station (ISS) on Saturday morning, May 6th.

The SpaceX Dragon capsule Endeavour undocked from the Harmony module's space-facing port at 7:10 am ET (3:10 pm UAE time) on Saturday and redocked to the module's forward-facing port at 8:01 pm ET.

NASA instructed the astronauts to redock the capsule to clear up space for other spacecraft arriving later this month and in June.

The space agency broadcasted the task by live stream on its website and social media channels.

Once the cargo spacecraft departs in late June, the crew will redock their spacecraft back at the original spot.

Al Neyadi, NASA astronauts Stephen Bowen and Woody Hoburg, and Russian cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev arrived to the ISS in this spacecraft on March 3rd for a 6-month mission.
