Launch of SpaceX Crew-6 Mission Launch “Scrubbed”

NASA and SpaceX announced that the Crew-6 Mission launch has been “scrubbed” due to a ground system issue just minutes before blast-off.

The mission was cancelled just two minutes before it was supposed to launch from Kennedy Space Centre to the International Space Station on Monday February 27th at 10:45am UAE time.

"Today's Crew-6 launch has been scrubbed due to an issue with ground systems. Stand by for details on a new launch date and time," NASA said in a statement.

NASA explained that there was a technical issue with a chemical that ignites the rocket engine.

The mission cannot be relaunched today as NASA and SpaceX figure out how to fix the problem with Falcon 9 rocket.

Nasa and SpaceX will now look at a new launch date for the Crew-6 mission, with possible options including next Thursday Friday or Saturday.

The next step will be for engineers to offload fuel from the rocket, which takes around 30 minutes. After that, the arm used to allow the crew on and off will be reattached, allowing the four astronauts to exit.

UAE's astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi  is among the four astronauts who were supposed to take-off from the Kennedy Space Centre today. Al Neyadi spent Saturday, February 25th, with his family and friends at the Kennedy Space Centre Visitor Complex from a distance.

The rest of the mission's crew consists of two NASA astronauts, Mission Commander Stephen Bowen, and Pilot Warren Hoburg; and Andrey Fedyaev, who along with Al Neyadi will serve as a mission specialist to the space station for the science expedition mission.
