Who Will Face an AED 400 Fine Starting October 1st in the UAE?

A Dh400 fine will be imposed beginning on October 1st, 2023, on those who are eligible for the program but have not joined the UAE's unemployment insurance scheme.

This includes citizens and residents working in both the commercial and public sectors, with the exception of investors (company owners who own and operate their businesses themselves), domestic workers, temporary workers, those who are under the age of 18, retirees who get pensions, and those who have started a new job.

The government is advising those who qualify for the scheme to sign up right away in order to avoid penalties and take advantage of its benefits.

The system's goal is to give residents and citizens a social safety net so they may live decently with their families until they can find other work.

Additionally, it intends to draw and keep top professionals from around the world in the UAE labor market.

Over 5.6 million people are from the private sector, while the remaining subscribers are employed by federal government agencies, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratization (MoHRE).
