Abu Dhabi Crowned Safest City in the World for 10th Consecutive Year

Abu Dhabi residents have every reason to celebrate: the city has been named the safest in the world for the tenth year in a row, according to the latest Numbeo global safety rankings.

Out of 400 cities across 150 countries, the capital ranked first for safety during the day and at night, cementing its decade-long streak at the top.

Safety by Design

Abu Dhabi’s success isn’t luck. It comes from a carefully balanced approach combining advanced technology, community focus, and proactive law enforcement.

Police departments use AI-powered tools, data analytics, and smart systems to anticipate challenges and respond swiftly, ensuring safety evolves alongside the city.

Leadership and Vision

Lieutenant General Ahmed Saif bin Zaitoon Al Muhairi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, highlighted that the achievement is thanks to strong leadership, integrated institutional planning, and the tireless efforts of Abu Dhabi personnel.

“Our strategy combines human capability development, institutional partnerships, community empowerment, and smart technology to enhance public safety,” he said.

Community-Centred Approach

Trust between residents and authorities plays a huge role. Community policing initiatives encourage communication, shared responsibility, and reassurance, helping maintain Abu Dhabi’s calm and orderly environment.

Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director General of Abu Dhabi Police, added:

“This ranking reflects a vision that puts human security at the heart of sustainable development, creating a safe and attractive city for living, work, and investment.”

A Global Model

By prioritising safety alongside wellbeing and social harmony, Abu Dhabi has become a global model for urban security, where residents and visitors can move freely and confidently.
