Abu Dhabi Ranked Number One on the Safety Index for 2023

In 2023, Abu Dhabi has made it to number one on the Safety Index of Numbeo.

Abu Dhabi Ranked Number One on the Safety Index for 2023

Numbeo has listed Abu Dhabi as the safest city in the world in 2023. In addition to Abu Dhabi, other GCC cities made it to the top fifteen this year.

The Safety Index 2023 lists cities that are considered the safest and with the lowest crime-rates. The top fifteen are:

1. Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates

2. Doha, Qatar

3. Taipei, Taiwan (China)

4. Ajman, United Arab Emirates

5. Sharjah, United Arab Emirates

6. Quebec City, Canada

7. Dubai, United Arab Emirates

8. San Sebastian, Spain

9. Bern, Switzerland

10. Eskisehir, Turkey

11. Zurich, Switzerland

12. Munich, Germany

13. Trondheim, Norway

14. Muscat, Oman

15. Tartu, Estonia

In addition to Abu Dhabi, Ajman ranks four, Sharjah ranks five, and Dubai ranks seven, which puts four cities from the UAE only at the top ten. Other than cities from the UAE, Doha, Qatar ranks at second, while Muscat ranks at fourteen in the top fifteen.

The Safety Index is based on surveys conducted in various cities around the world. Abu Dhabi is considered the safest because it is considered very safe to walk in the streets during the night.  The likelihood of theft and vandalism is also perceived to be very low.
