Abu Dhabi International Airport Renamed Zayed International Airport

Abu Dhabi International Airport has been officially renamed Zayed International Airport, in a poignant tribute to the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The momentous decision was made by UAE President HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, marking a significant milestone in the nation's history.

The renaming ceremony coincided with the three-month anniversary of the opening of Terminal A, also known as the Midfield Terminal, at Zayed International Airport. The sprawling terminal, spanning 742,000 square meters, boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a futuristic design that epitomizes the vision of the UAE's founding father.

The new name pays homage to Sheikh Zayed's enduring legacy and his instrumental role in shaping the nation's development. As a symbol of progress and innovation, Zayed International Airport is poised to redefine the travel experience for millions of passengers annually.

With an annual capacity of up to 45 million passengers and the ability to accommodate 79 aircraft simultaneously, Zayed International Airport sets a new standard for aviation excellence in the region.

From smart interconnected biometric systems to self-service kiosks and advanced security checkpoints, Zayed International Airport offers travelers unparalleled convenience and efficiency. This ensures that passengers have more time to explore the world-class amenities and facilities available within the terminal.

Despite its recent inauguration on November 1, the Midfield Terminal has already garnered global attention, thanks in part to its appearance in the blockbuster film Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One.

As Zayed International Airport continues to make waves on the global stage, it remains a testament to the UAE's commitment to innovation, progress, and honoring the enduring legacy of its visionary leaders.
