Abu Dhabi to Have Driverless Water Taxis to Ferry People to Islands

Abu Dhabi  will soon have driverless water taxis for people to travel to nearby islands  and unmanned ground vehicles (UGV) to transport cargo.

The Technology Innovation Institute (TII), Aspire, and Maqta Gateway have signed an agreement to introduce these driverless water taxis soon to Abu Dhabi.

The agreement will help these institutions develop innovative solutions to Abu Dhabi Ports' maritime infrastructural challenges.

The driverless water taxis will provide safe passage to commuters from cities to islands.

These water taxis will also reduce various costs and improve the efficiency of transportation from Abu Dhabi  City to the nearby islands.

UGVs will improve cargo movement with improved safety and productivity as well as cost efficiency.

There is no confirmed date for the introduction of these driverless water taxis in Abu Dhabi nonetheless, with this development, Abu Dhabi is making leaps and bounds in innovation and technology.
