According to the latest Tweets from the Dubai Media Office, a fire that broke out in a plastic factory in Dubai's Jebel Ali area has been brought under control.

"heavy smoke seen at the site is due to the nature of the plastic material"

Teams from Dubai Civil Defence carried out a safe evacuation of the factory, and confirmed there were no injuries.

Earlier in July, a fire caused by an explosion on a ship at Dubai’s Jebel Ali Port was brought under control.

The port is the Middle East's largest transshipment hub. DMO Director-General Mona Al Marri told Al Arabiya television channel that fire originated from a container holding flammable material. However, Dubai Police told the channel that it might be caused by “friction or high temperatures” during hot summer months.
