Free Parking Announced in Sharjah on This Date

On Thursday, July 20th, which has been designated as an official holiday to honor the Hijri New Year, residents of the emirate of Sharjah will benefit from free public parking, the emirate's Municipality stated on Tuesday.

The 7-day paid parking zones, which are indicated by the blue parking information signs, will nonetheless still require payment on the holiday.

The Sharjah administration revealed the date of the public sector employees' holiday for the Islamic New Year on Thursday.

The Hijri New Year holiday will start on Thursday, which corresponds to July 20, 2023, according to a statement from the Sharjah Government's Department of Human Resources.

For the duration of the holiday, the municipality has advised all drivers to park responsibly to avoid fines.
