How to Get Your Professional Driving Permit Instantly?

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said on Tuesday that drivers in Dubai will no longer have to wait for a professional driving license to be issued; instead, they can get one instantly online.

 Sultan Al Akraf, director of driver affairs at RTA’s Public Transport Agency said, “Expediting the procedure is part of RTA’s digital transformation strategy for permits. The initiative will benefit taxi drivers, luxury vehicle drivers, and school bus drivers.”

How to apply for the permit?

• A permit application must be submitted on the RTA website by the affiliated company, along with the required fee.
• The driver is required to download and pre-register for the Dubai Drive app on their smart devices.
• The RTA-Dubai Drive app, which is available on all types of smart devices, instantly provides the driver with a digital permit after the affiliated company has completed the application procedure.

Akraf concluded, “The aim of the new digital permits for practicing professional passenger transport drivers (bus and taxi drivers and limousine chauffeurs), as well as school transport attendants, is to bring happiness to customers through offering services that save their time and effort. It enables them to have such permits issued via smart channels and obtain digital permits via the RTA-DUBAI DRIVE app on smartphones.”
