RTA is Handing Out Paperless Fines

In late 2020 Dubai has announced its aim and goal to become a paperless city by December 2021 through building smart sustainable cities and delivering services through apps. This initiative is to support the environment and mother earth as we have seen several actions implemented that support the initiative.

In light of this initiative Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced its contribution to the initiative by giving paperless parking violations and fines starting from the 28th of march.

Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced on Tuesday that parking violators will no longer get a ticket posted on their vehicle windshield beginning on Sunday, March 28 via a tweet that said, “Starting Sunday, March 28, all paper parking violations will stop, and you will receive paperless violations via SMS & email instead, in a new, more environmentally friendly way.”

“Please make sure to update your mobile number and email in your traffic file by calling 8009090,” the RTA added.

According to the RTA website, non-payment of the parking fee results in a fine of 150 Dh while exceeding the maximum parking hours and exceeding the parking time results in a penalty of 100 Dh. Illegal parking and obstruction or misuse of the car park will result in a fine of 200 Dh while unauthorized use of a special needs car park will result in a penalty of 1000 Dh.

UAE gets closer by the day through its commitment to its goals, for the list of parking violations and fines you could visit the RTA website.
