If you’re looking for a weekend plan that mixes top-tier sport with an easy family day out, the Mubadala Abu Dhabi Open 2026 is back—and it’s starting strong.

The WTA 500 tournament takes over the International Tennis Centre at Zayed Sports City from January 31 to February 7, bringing eight days of high-level women’s tennis, off-court activities, and free entry on opening day.

Opening Day Is Free for Everyone

Saturday, January 31, kicks things off with free entry for all, no tickets required. It’s also Family Day, featuring the live draw ceremony on the Village Stage, with a leading WTA player revealing the match-ups.

Kids can also attend for free from February 2 to 4, making it one of the most accessible sporting events on the Abu Dhabi calendar.

Big Names Hit the Court

The 2026 line-up doesn’t disappoint. World No. 5 and Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina leads the field, alongside defending champion Belinda Bencic, Paula Badosa, Sofia Kenin, Jelena Ostapenko, and rising talents Alexandra Eala and Victoria Mboko.

In total, 28 singles players and 16 doubles teams will compete across the week.

More Than Just Tennis

Even if you’re not glued to the matches, there’s plenty happening off court. The expanded Tennis Village will feature games like Giant Jenga, arcade challenges, art workshops, skill stations, basketball clinics, and a dedicated kids’ zone. Visitors can also collect stamps around the village to win prizes.

Wheelchair Tennis Debuts in 2026

This year marks a first for the tournament with a wheelchair tennis invitational running alongside the main event from February 5 to 7. Players will also host coaching clinics for coaches and people of determination.
