The gunfire began around 6:00 PM local time at the Seattle Center during the annual "Bite of Seattle" festival. Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene to assist those affected and evacuate the area.

According to Susan Gregg, a spokesperson for the Harborview Medical Center, the hospital received four victims. These patients include a toddler, a 23-year-old man, and two adult women. One of the victims remains in critical condition.

Eyewitnesses Describe the Scene

Visitors at the festival described moments of panic when the shooting occurred. Estan Wakonabo, who was attending the event with his girlfriend, shared his experience. He mentioned they were waiting in line for a photo booth when the crowd suddenly started running.

"People were hiding, were pushing, people were falling on the ground, baby strollers were falling," Wakonabo said.

He added that he realized the danger when he heard the gunfire: "Once I heard a 'pop, pop, pop,' that's when I knew it was a shooter," he said.

After helping his girlfriend reach safety, Wakonabo returned to the scene to document the situation, where he saw several victims on the ground.
