UAE Breaks Guinness World Record with Largest Handprint Flag

Talk about leaving your mark — literally. The United Arab Emirates has just snagged a Guinness World Record for creating the world’s largest flag made entirely of handprints, bringing together thousands of people in a colorful celebration of unity.

Crafted with 24,514 handprints from more than 100 nationalities, the vibrant flag is now proudly displayed at the Pakistan Auditorium in Dubai. Spearheaded by the Pakistan Association Dubai, the initiative ran under the powerful theme: “Unity in Diversity.”

From school kids to delivery drivers, artists to laborers — people from all walks of life came forward to participate. Among the most touching moments? A three-month-old baby named Muhammad Mustafa Imran, whose handprint was added by his dad in a heartfelt tribute. His parents described it as “a memorable gesture of love for the country that will one day make their son proud.”

“The idea behind the project was simple yet powerful: ‘unity in diversity,’” shared Khalid Imtiaz, Board Member of the Pakistan Association. “From schoolchildren to delivery riders, and from labourers to community members of all ages and backgrounds, people came together to show their love and appreciation for the UAE.”

The project kicked off on April 13 in Al Quoz, spanning over 39 handprint sessions before culminating in a joyful community event. As the finishing touches were placed, so too was the message:

“One flag, one message: unity in diversity.”

It’s more than just a record — it’s a love letter to the UAE’s multicultural soul, where every handprint tells a story of belonging.
