The UAE saw the highest rise in tourism spending in the region in 2022, with a 70% increase to Dh121 billion.

This was revealed when His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai was touring the Arabian Travel Market 2023, which is home to 2,000 travel businesses from 150 different nations.

Sheikh Mohammed posted on Twitter, "Global tourism has rebounded after three years of decline. The UAE’S tourism sector has also made a strong comeback, with tourist spending in 2022 increasing by 70% to reach AED 121 billion, leading the region."

In order to create the biggest and fastest-growing economy in the world, he said, "We remain committed to developing all sectors of our national economy." He also stated that the UAE's aim was to attract 40 million travelers within seven years and boost the sector's contribution to GDP to Dh450 billion.

25 programs and policies are outlined in the strategy to aid in the growth of the nation's tourist industry. It is expected to create new investment possibilities, draw more international companies to the local market, and develop tourist data and statistics, in addition to boosting investment in tourism across a number of related businesses, such as travel, aviation, and hospitality.
