In a shocking incident captured in a video shared by the Abu Dhabi Police on Friday, a reckless driver in Abu Dhabi caused a devastating crash at a bustling intersection, breaking multiple traffic rules in less than three seconds.

The footage depicts a black SUV making a hazardous wrong turn and subsequently running a red light, resulting in a collision with another vehicle and sending it into a chaotic spin.

The sequence of errors is shown in the video in graphic detail. Firstly, the SUV chooses to turn left instead of staying in the designated "go straight" lane. Second, the vehicle doing the maneuver has the right-of-way through the intersection while the traffic signal is red, indicating that it is their turn to drive.
 

Despite the conspicuous nature of the violations, the Abu Dhabi Police attributed the primary cause of the crash to distracted driving.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the potentially catastrophic consequences of not only disregarding traffic regulations but also the dangers posed by distracted driving on the roads of the emirate.
