Dubai Marina Tower Blaze Contained After Six Hours

A massive fire broke out on Friday night in Dubai Marina’s Marina Pinnacle tower — but thanks to a swift and coordinated emergency response, all residents were safely evacuated, and the flames were fully contained by Saturday morning.

The Dubai Media Office confirmed the fire was brought under control after six hours of intensive work by Dubai Civil Defence teams. The blaze had erupted in the 67-storey high-rise, prompting the safe evacuation of 3,820 residents from 764 apartments — and impressively, not a single injury was reported.

By 2:21 am on Saturday, Dubai officials provided updates on the situation, applauding the efforts of firefighting crews and emergency responders who cleared the tower floor by floor.

Authorities are now working closely with the building’s developer to ensure temporary housing is arranged for affected residents. The well-being and safety of evacuees is being treated as a top priority.

Although the fire has been extinguished, smoke could still be seen wafting from the structure on Saturday morning, with minor signs of damage visible on the tower’s facade.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and authorities have yet to release an official statement on how it started.

A Repeat Incident at Marina Pinnacle

This isn’t the first time Marina Pinnacle — also known locally as Tiger Tower — has made headlines for a fire. Back in May 2015, a kitchen blaze on the 47th floor spread one level up before being contained.

Located just steps away from The Torch, another high-rise infamous for fire incidents in 2015 and 2017, the Marina Pinnacle fire has renewed conversations about high-rise safety in one of Dubai’s busiest residential hubs.

While the fire may be out, the community is now focused on recovery, with many displaced residents waiting to learn when — and if — they can return home.
